G. Alexander -
The visit yesterday was regarding my mother's Will and my brother and I went together. The solicitor had no idea who we were or why we were there, though he had made the appointment in a telephone converrsation with me about ten days before. The glib ofhand rhetoric when asking prying questions about my recently deceased mother's belonging, almost left me crying. He needed to to know if mummmy had a yacht or sports car, stocks and shares or bonds and jewellery. In other words he apeared to be insensitive and unsympathetic. I didn't know we were expected to discuss my mother's clothes. He repeatedly asked what clothes my mother possessed on the day she passed. I told him her clothes had been given away. He asked me twice again, as though I was a criminal. I had watched my mother slowly and painfully deteriorate for about 18 months. It had been a shocking experience. I can't give details here, but I got up and walked out sickened and disgusted by the questioning regarding mummy's clothes. My brother stayed to go on with it. My brother is autistic and doesn't respond much to feelings, so remained uaffected by the unreasonable 'questioning' that had no solemnity nor respect about it. I do not want to continue with that man my brother has engaged to deal with our Will.
